🩸 Iron-Rich Foods: If Morgan lost a lot of blood during labor

  • 3 days on the bed, 4 days near the bed
  • Short strolls in the room, couch lounging
  • No chores under any circumstances

1 Day NEAR the Bed

  • 1 day near the bed
  • Gradual activity around the house as comfortable
  • Rest immediately whenever tired
😴 Sleep & Feeding Routine
  • Wake Windows: 45 minutes between naps
  • Bedtime: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Feeding: Approx. every 2–3 hours (feed on demand rather than real schedule)
  • Vitamin D Drops: 400 IU each day (continue for 12 months)
  • Cadence: Wake to eat if not feeding 8–12 times a day

  • First Bath: Do in the middle of the day to see if it makes her alert or sleepy

  • Need at least 3 wet diapers, 2+ dirty diapers (stool turning greenish/looser)
  • Postpartum: Morgan in bed
  • Day 3 Hormone Drop: Hormone levels drop so watch out for mood shifts / PPD. Nick provides extra TLC.

Murrieta
  • Arrival Portico: Drive up to the Maternity Center main entrance portico. Nick drops off Morgan and bags, then parks in visitor lot.
  • Hours: 8 AM – 8 PM through Main Registration; after 8 PM / weekends through Emergency Dept.
  • OBED / Triage: Only Nick allowed with Morgan initially. Doula Genette waits in waiting room until transferred to an active labor room.
  • Labor Room Visitors: Once assigned to a delivery room, visitors are 24/7. Doula has continuous access.
  • Comfort Tools: Birthing balls, peanut balls, birthing bars, and wireless telemetry monitors. In-room tub available for labor hydrotherapy if approved by attending OB.
  • Epidural: Request before 5–6 cm dilation. Note: strictly clear liquids only once epidural is in place.
  • Partner Sleeper: Nick gets a pull-out sleeper bed in the postpartum recovery room!
